Hertfordshire's listings split between Stevenage, one of the original post-war new towns, and St Albans, the cathedral city just north of London, each currently down for a single venue. Both sit close enough to the capital that plenty of residents may already have the option of travelling in for more choice.

St Albans and Stevenage sit only a few miles apart yet feel quite different — one a cathedral city with a long history, the other a planned new town built after the war — despite neither having grown past a single venue yet.

Stevenage's population runs somewhat higher than St Albans's, though neither size has translated into more than a single head spa venue so far. Stevenage's own town centre was one of the first anywhere in the country built specifically around pedestrian shopping, a design choice that still shapes how the centre feels to walk through even today.
