Head spas in Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire's listings split between Gloucester, the cathedral city on the River Severn, and Cheltenham, the Regency spa town nearby, each currently down for a single venue. Cheltenham's own long history with wellness and taking the waters makes its modest modern scene a little surprising by comparison.

Neither town has pulled ahead of the other, and Bristol, just south of the county boundary, sits in much the same spot, suggesting this whole corner of the South West is still fairly early in developing its head spa scene. Both Gloucester and Cheltenham draw a reasonable number of visitors year-round regardless.

Booking whichever is closer is likely to be the more practical approach given how evenly matched the two currently are. The Cotswolds surrounding both towns could plausibly bring more visitors, and in time more venues, to either one first. Gloucester's docks and Cheltenham's Regency terraces give the two towns quite distinct identities despite sitting only a few miles apart.
