Essex's listings split between Ongar and Colchester, each currently down for a single venue. Both sit within reach of London's much larger selection, which may be part of why neither has grown into more of a local cluster so far.

Colchester, often described as Britain's oldest recorded town, and Ongar, on the edge of London's commuter belt, are otherwise fairly different in character despite their matching venue counts. Both towns sit close enough to the county's rail network into the capital that a longer trip is always possible, even if it isn't likely to be necessary for most bookings.

Chelmsford, the county town, doesn't have a listing of its own here, so residents there are about as likely to look towards Colchester as towards London for a longer, more ritual-style treatment session. Colchester's Roman walls and castle draw a fair number of visitors through the town regardless of the season.
